Castings Services have supplied the international market with drainage products for the past 25 years. We pride ourselves on quality, both in terms of service and products and we have always worked closely with our customers to ensure they get exactly what they require.

It was during consultations with our customers that we realised there are a number of inherent problems associated with traditional ductile iron covers. We therefore decided to go in to the market to find a product that would solve all of these problems.

The CSG composite cover is the result of this research.

  • CSG Composite Covers are the only composite covers certified to D400 as in EN124.
  • Non-corrosive, they won’t rust or perish in harsh environments.
  • Chemically resistant to diesel, petrol, salt and water.
  • Deep seating of the covers prevents any possibility of them being disturbed by impact forces.
  • Each CSG cover has a torsion resistant composite frame, which prevents movement and distortion, the forces that cause wear and failure.
  • The frame design ensures that the surrounding concrete structure remains in compression, which prevents displacement and cracking of the surrounding road surface.
  • Integrated levelling feet make installation easy and prevent ground workers from using improper materials as packing.

  • The CSG composite covers achieve a slip-skid value over PSVR75, even when wet.
  • The cover retains its non-skid properties throughout its life cycle and will not become polished even when placed in areas of extremely heavy traffic.
  • A multi-directional tread pattern maintains the excellent slip-skid value in all directions.
  • The advanced composite structure is inherently lightweight so manual handling problems are eliminated.
  • The CSG composite cover is not electrically conductive and will also resist extremes in temperature without being affected.
  • Radio waves will pass through the cover unhindered. Telemetric meter reading allows meter readers to carry out their task without having to lift the cover.

Security

  • The covers are designed to prevent absent minded employees leaving them unlocked.
  • The medium duty covers have a unique anti-tamper locking mechanism which automatically re-engages on returning the cover.
  • The lifting aid cannot be removed from the heavy duty covers without first locking it back in place.

  • For every 1,000 ductile covers replaced with CSG Composite Covers a saving of £1 Million can be made.
  • Each cover comes with a 15 year guarantee. We will replace any faulty covers free of charge if they fail within this time scale.
  • The Advanced Composite Structure has no scrap value therefore cover theft is not an issue.
  • No more litigation costs due to slips, skids or lifting injuries.
