Exports to Military Bases in Cyprus

We provided support to two military bases located in Cyprus. Being overseas this came with complexities around logistics and being military grade, there was also high security implications.

One of the bases was an RAF base and the other a British manned military base.

The manned site came with a long list of requirements. The main part of which was to provide mild steel access covers that were LPCB rated and came with upstand tortion spring assist for one man operation.

These needed to come with hinged safety grids, galvanised to BS EN ISO1461 standards.

The RAF site had a slightly different requirement as these units also needed to be fitted with a security plate and adhere to strict MOD specifications due to the classified, high value equipment the manhole covers were sitting on top of.

There was a range of clear opening sizes and we also had to consider the various equipment/utilities being held underground, as each would require different levels of access and therefore affect the chosen manhole cover specification.

Since we were involved in discussions right at the beginning of the design phase, we were able to provide the right solution for each military grade manhole cover, right from the outset. We sourced and exported all stock to each site, in Cyrpus, quickly and efficiently.
